The London Common Law and Commercial Bar Association provides advice about the professional conduct regime of the Bar and how to deal with it in the event of a complaint or other difficulty.

Any member who wishes to speak with somebody about our Professional Conduct scheme should in the first instance contact Jonathan McNae at Selborne Chambers ([email protected]) and the enquiry will be treated in the strictest confidence.  You will be put in touch with a suitable member of a volunteer panel.

The rules and regulations which govern the activities and conduct of barristers are contained within the (effective as of January 2014) Bar Standards Board Handbook. The full text can be found on the BSB’s web site at https://www.barstandardsboard.org.uk/ and should, of course, be considered in detail in the event of an issue or complaint.
